Rachael & David’s Glorious Winter Wedding in Northumberland
Lisa and I had the pleasure of capturing Rachel and David’s enchanting winter wedding in November 2021 at the stunning Le Petit Chateau in Otterburn, Northumberland. We are so far behind with our wedding blog. Over 2 years at this point. So we are going to have to make these a little less personal so we don’t miss any of our fabulous couples out.
Blue Skies in November at Le Petit Château in Otterburn
We had already been to Le Petit Château in Otterburn just a few days before for Liam & Nathan’s wedding. It had rained a substantial amount on that day. So we were elated to be greeted with a clear blue sky when we arrived. I remember the sun being so low, even at mid-day when we arrived.

The ceremony took place in the charming Belle Époque room, with its opulent decor creating a cosy and romantic atmosphere. Rachel looked radiant in her elegant gown. David, despite being quite camera-shy, couldn’t hide his joy as she walked down the aisle. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they exchanged heartfelt vows, sealing their commitment to each other.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the picturesque gardens. Despite the chill in the air, the warmth of the occasion was palpable. We took the opportunity to capture some candid shots of the couple and their guests, as everyone mingled and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.
Feast while the Sun Sets
The reception was held in the grand Ballroom, which was beautifully decorated with floral arrangements and twinkling lights. Rachel and David’s first dance was a highlight of the evening, as they moved gracefully to their chosen song, surrounded by loved ones. Outside the good weather came to an end and the heavens opened.

The dark evening brought a touch of magic with a gentle rain, creating the perfect setting for some special umbrella shots in the gardens. These images, with the soft glow of lights reflecting off the raindrops, are some of our favourites from the day. It takes a strong-willed bride to venture out in winter rain but Rachael took it in her stride and knew the images would be worth the cold.
A First Dance to Remember at Le Petit Château in Otterburn
Throughout the day, there were so many special moments – from throwing the bouquet to laughter during the cake cutting. Each photo in this collection tells a part of their unique love story. Rachael & David’s first dance was beautiful. The smoke machine at Le Petit Château in Otterburn always makes the moment magical.
