Sessions start from only £49. All you have to do is provide the cake and bring plenty of wipes. They also make fantastic gifts for a first birthday present.
- 1-hour cake smash photoshoot
- Before they get messy we take a small selection photos to show them off. Smiles, Party Outfit, Birthday Cards, Sitting, Crawling & First Steps.
- Cake Smash time with the option of bunting, cake stand and birthday hats. Feel free to bring more props with you.
- Baby bathing and changing facilities for the cleanup. ( Mums & Dads won’t fit in the bath… hehe).
- We clean up the mess!
- Online image previews, so all the family can enjoy the fun.

Cake smash Photoshoots
Our cake smash photo shoots start with some photographs in their favourite outfit before they dive in. We get some great portraits to mark their first milestone. They might be crawling or even walking so we capture their stage of development with their glad rags on. Bring your one-year-old’s favourite toys or birthday cards to help mark the day. Then it’s time to get messy. We don’t supply a cake, in case of allergies, but can give you loads of advice as to what works well.
You can never predict how a little one will react to a cake in front of them. Sometimes they dive in headfirst and other times we get messier than them! After the hopeful devastation, we have bathing facilities for the little so bring a towel and avoid planning to go anywhere afterwards. We hope you don’t mind picking icing out of your hair! Afterwards, we will organise for you to view your photographs on a different day in the comfort of our viewing room.

How do I book a Photo Shoot?
Booking with Halo Photography is simple. Choose a starter package above and click on Buy & Book. You will be able to see all of our availability. Choose a date and time and pay for your package online.
We’ll then email you a confirmation with loads of tips to making the session go smoothy.

When should I book a Cakesmash Photo Shoot?
We advise to not book your cakesmash photoshoot on your childs birthday. Its going to be a busy day for them already. Try to pick a day just before or after their 1st birthday.
Do you supply cakes?
We dont supply cakes for allergy reasons. We recommend a cake with soft icing. Hard chocolate cakes don’t melt enough to get messy.
What should I bring with us?
On the day bring
- a cake
- a towel
- plenty of baby wipes
- a drink (for the baby not you)
- savoury snacks
- Extra cloths for you and baby
- Baby wash if you’d like to use our baby bath

Where are you?
Our address is 3 Errington Street, Bebside, Blyth, Northumberland, NE24 4HP. We are outside of Blyth, not far from the large Blyth ASDA. From the A189 take the exit to the Jet Petrol Station then after the railway crossing take the 2nd left hand turn. We are the 3rd large white warehouse down that lane. If you pass the recycling centre you have gone too far.
What is the Online Gallery?
Our online gallery a private area on our website for you and your family to see the images taken during your session. They are watermarked images to help you order. They are not downloadable however you can purchase copyright free images as extras.
Can Siblings join in?
Siblings are happy to join your one year old for portraits before the cake smashing starts and one or two images at the end.
Please bring extra hands to supervise additional children.
